1. install the perl http://search.cpan.org/~sderle/Geo-Coder-US/ (use the 'cpan' command)
2. build the database up
3. install the WFS front end for it
Based on the prior 7 steps, I'm failing to see the correlation between building the PostGIS tiger database and installing a Geocoder that uses a Berkley Database. Is there something more to this geocoder that allows it to tap into the Tiger Data that we installed in the steps leading up to this one? If not, is there another geocoder that would accomplish this?

The geocoder is separate from geoserver and postgis/postgresql. The GetFeature.cgi program wraps around geocoder.us's library and exposes it as a WFS server (ie. something that looks like geoserver).
